Luke is an accent coach based in London. He teaches non-native English speakers how to communicate more clearly.

After being frustrated at the lack of available information and practice materials for non-native speakers learning contemporary British English pronunciation, he set up his business to change the situation in 2012.

He has years of teaching experience and has taught on the Summer Course in English Phonetics at University College London (UCL).

He is a member of the International Phonetic Association and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association, as well as having trained with KT Speechwork in New York City.

He has the technical, academic, and practical skills to help you improve your accent.

Luke’s paper Teaching vowels physically was published as the lead article in Volume 11 Issue 2 of the VSR.

Qualifications

Qualifications

International Phonetic Association (IPA) Certificate (at University College London. This qualification certifies an advanced knowledge of English phonetics and the sounds of hundreds of world languages)

CELTA – Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (This is the standard qualification for English Language teaching in the UK)

First-class BA(Hons) German Studies & Italian Studies (at the University of Birmingham. This provided excellent training in linguistics and phonetics)

MA Acting – Distinction in Voice and in Articulation (This gave Luke an advanced knowledge of how the voice and the muscles of the mouth work)
