When you visit the Improve Your Accent website or social media pages
When you visit the Improve Your Accent website, general information is gathered about how you use it, as well as information about the type of device you are using to access them (e.g. phone, tablet, PC). This data helps to create a better online experience for you; for example, make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for or fix elements that make the website difficult to use.
Cookies (text files that a web browser stores on your device which track, save and store information, and may or may not expire when you close your browser) are used to understand how you interact with the website and help improve how it works. See the Cookie Policy below for more information.
Relevant personal information is collected via the website contact form or provided by you via email or other means. This may include (but isn’t limited to) your name, native language/accent, and contact details.
When purchasing a product from the website (such as private lessons or the online course), personal information, payment and transaction data will be collected and sent to payment providers Stripe, Braintree or PayPal. The website ensures that payments are always made securely via https://. After a transaction, your payment information will not be stored on our servers.
During lessons, audio recordings may be made of you speaking. You may provide personal information during these recordings, however these recordings will never be given or sold to any third-party without your explicit consent.
If you tick the box on the course registration page for the newsletter or marketing that says “Tick the box to receive email reminders about Luke’s live classes and updates on other pronunciation resources. You can unsubscribe at any time.”, then your email address, name and native language will be collected and sent to SendInBlue.com. This is the mailing service used for course notifications.
If you tick the box on the contact form on the private lessons page or the contact page that says “Would you like to receive occasional updates via email on new pronunciation resources or YouTube videos I create? (You can unsubscribe at any time)”, then your email address, name and native language will be collected and sent to SendInBlue.com.
If you sign up for my newsletter, your email address, name and native language will be collected and sent to Customer.io.
If you register for a live class as part of the online course, your name, email address and native language will be collected by Demio.com. Your personal details (name, email, native language) will not be revealed to other attendees during the class. Your webcam/microphone will be switched off by default (unless you have been picked to participate as a student). But if you post a question in the chat, your first name will be visible to other attendees. By applying to be a participating student in the class, you agree to sharing your webcam/audio stream and your first name/native language with other attendees/course subscribers. You also agree to a recording of the lesson (which will include your first name/native language) to be posted in the course for current and future subscribers to watch at any time.
